
There are 6 researchers from UCIBIO among the top 2% of the world’s most highly-cited scientists, according to the 2021 data-update for "Updated science-wide author databases of standardized citation indicators". The study, developed by the American University of Stanford, coordinated by John P.A. Ioannidis, ranks career-long scientific impact of researchers from around the globe, and it was supported by Scopus, an online and international database of scientific articles and citations, in various types, for academic newspapers and magazines.
The updated version released now, based on the previous study, is based on the Aug 01, 2021 snapshot from Scopus and is updated to citation year 2020, and highlights six UCIBIO researchers among the most influential worldwide: Felix Carvalho (leader of the Toxicology Research Lab), José Paulo Sampaio (leader of the Yeast Genomics Research Lab), Maria Ascensão M Reis (leader of the Biochemical Engineering Research Lab), Paulo Costa (Researcher at the Pharmaceutical Technology Research Lab), Pedro Viana Baptista (leader of the Nanomedicine Research Lab) and Ricardo Oliveira (Researcher at the Toxicology Research Lab).
