Abstract:
Life is a distribution. The plural existence of organisms and matter extends to proteins, in folding, processing, and function. This presentation will approach the proteomic diversity from the perspective of the discrete existence of each biologically relevant chemical and physical proteoform.

Luís Maurício Trambaioli da Rocha e Lima (Mauricio for short) is full professor of biochemistry in the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ, Brazil). Graduated in Nutrition and in Pharmacy, PhD in Biological Chemistry (UFRJ, 2021), he is the PI of the Laboratory for Pharmaceutical Biotechnology. His major scientific interest is on metabolic diseases and amyloidosis. Work also as clinical Nutritionist and Pharmacist, including the Hepatology Department of the University Hospital. His main research interest is related to metabolic diseases and amyloidosis, from the standpoint of structural and molecular biology, diagnostics, therapeutics and clinic.
