About Raquel Portela
Raquel Portela did her degree and Master in Biology at University of Coimbra. Her master thesis was performed at ITQB in Enterococcus' epidemiology.
Raquel is doing her PhD with Rita Sobral and her research is focused on the molecular characterisation of the peptidoglycan biosynthesis pathway and of the mechanisms of resistance to beta-lactam antibiotics in the human pathogen Staphylococcus aureus.
Outside the lab Raquel enjoys reading, cinema and spending time with friends.
