Marcela Segundo from UCIBIO at Faculdade de Farmácia - Universidade do Porto (FF-UPorto), received the FIA Award for Science, granted by the Japanese Association for Flow Injection Analysis. The attribution of medal and merit diploma took place at October 6th in Mallorca, Spain, during the 20th ICFIA - International Conference on Flow Injection Analysis and Related Techniques.

Isabel Sá Nogueira, integrated member of UCIBIO at Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia (FCT-NOVA), has been elected president of the Portuguese Society of Genetics for a period of three years (2015-2018). The Portuguese Society of Genetics (SPG) was established in 1973 to promote the development and diffusion of genetics in Portugal.
