UCIBIO actions and efforts to COVID-19 pandemic
The COVID-19 pandemic, due to the SARS-CoV-2 virus, has been responsible for the disruption of universities and research institutes across the world. However, these institutions were the ones that immediately reorganized their resources and expertise to help. UCIBIO researchers have been very active and and promptly volunteered and mobilized efforts to fight COVID-19 in different ways.

A new use for cork in artificial olfaction
Cecília Roque, head of the Biomolecular Engineering Lab at UCIBIO-FCT NOVA, has just published a new research publication that reports the development of a new class of environmentally-friendly gas sensing materials made of suberin from cork and a nematic liquid crystal.
UCIBIO at European Researchers Night
On 27th November, researchers across Europe will get closer to the general public, this year in an online format.

Applications open to 8 PhD Fellowships at UCIBIO Porto
UCIBIO opens a call for 8 PhD fellowships in Biology/Biochemistry, Toxicology, Microbiology and Pharmaceutical Technology areas. These fellowships will be funded by Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia (FCT), based on a collaboration protocol with the Research Unit on Applied Molecular Biosciences - UCIBIO.
